Forest fund land is 11.9 mln. hectares, that is, 26.4 percent of the total land area of the Republic (10.5 million hectares, 23.4 percent in 2017), of which the area of forests is 5.3 million. hectares (11.8 percent), including 3.5 mln. hectares, that is, 7.7 percent of the total land area of the Republic (3.1 million hectares, 6.9 percent in 2017). 81.8 percent (9,701,418 hectares) of the forest fund is desert, 13.7 percent (1,618,578 hectares) is mountain, 4.2 percent (503,147 hectares) is forest, 0.3 percent (34,987 hectares) is valley. consists of the territory.
During the past period of 2023, a number of measures were implemented in the system of the Forestry Agency.
In particular, 7,000 hectares of unused land in the forest fund were developed.
In order to stabilize the ecological situation, to eliminate sand migration and the rise of sand and dust into the atmosphere, forest-reclamation activities were carried out in the dry bottom of the Aral Sea and in the coastal areas, of which 127.8 thousand hectares in the Moynaq district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, 40.6 thousand hectares in the Bukhara region. , 43.7 thousand hectares in Navoi region and 10.6 thousand hectares in Khorezm region were established "green covers" of saxovul and other desert plants.
1,100 tons of seeds of desert and other types of trees and shrubs were collected by forestry enterprises.
The total area of nurseries and nurseries has been increased to 1.3 thousand hectares, and 120 million seedlings and saplings of ornamental and fruit trees and shrubs suitable for soil and climate conditions have been grown, including 32 million mulberry seedlings, 14 million poplar and pavlovnia seedlings.
As part of the nationwide project "Green Space", 2 million saplings were delivered to 9,443 neighborhoods and 813,000 saplings were planted in 6,739 pre-school educational organizations. Also, 868,000 saplings were delivered to healthcare organizations at the expense of the Ecology Fund.
On the basis of the project documents, "green parks" were established in 134 districts and cities of our republic on 347.1 hectares and 110 hectares on the lands of the Zomin State Forestry Fund in a total area of 457.1 hectares.
On the edges of irrigated agricultural land, 2.5 thousand hectares of surrounding tree groves were established, and 5 million seedlings were planted.
In order to protect and preserve forests, the system organizations studied forest disease and pest control on 48,000 hectares, and carried out control on 23,000 hectares. In order to coordinate forest fire prevention activities, the Agency and system organizations have established continuous duty during the summer season, when there is a high risk of fire.
More than 2,800 warning banners have been placed for people living in forest areas and forest visitors to use the forest properly and prevent forest fires.
At the same time, a number of works are being carried out in the field of additional use of the forest. In 2023, 170,000 livestock were planned to be grazed by the private sector entities on the pasture lands of the forest fund, and in practice, 300,000 livestock were grazed by the private sector entities. 220,000 bee families were planned to be settled on the lands of the Forest Fund by private sector entities, and 222,000 bee families were actually settled.
A plantation of medicinal and nutritious plants was established on an area of 5,280 hectares, and 9,062,000 tons of raw materials were grown.
In 2023, an agreement was signed on 3 grant projects worth 18.7 million dollars.
The number of ecotourism facilities on the lands of the Forest Fund increased to 280, the number of eco-routes to 38, and the number of visitor centers to 5.
7,800 new jobs were created in the forestry system.
A number of tasks have also been set for 2024.
